For many children in Ghana, the day does not begin with school or play, but with a long journey. They often walk several kilometres to fetch water – water that is not clean and can make them sick.

A well of their own changes everything. Suddenly, clean water is nearby. Children no longer have to walk long distances, they stay healthier, and they have time to go to school again.

This is exactly where we come in. With every well, a livable village is created – a village without thirst, a village where wounds can be washed and hygiene can be maintained. Water is life, and we build wells for water.

Thanks to the support of many committed donors, Bonnies Freunde Afrika has already built four wells. Four places where clean water is now a matter of course and hope has grown.

But many communities are still waiting.
